“Make Believe: Walking the Line Between Documentary and Fiction”

In 2017, as part of High Museum’s Picturing the South series, Alex Harris set out to immerse himself in the world of Southern filmmakers. He has since photographed on the sets of more than 41 different films in 9 different states. In his talk “Make Believe: Walking the Line Between Documentary and Fiction,” Harris will show and discuss his most recent project while also reflecting on images and experiences from five decades behind the camera.

This conversation is presented in association with the High’s exhibition Our Strange New Land: Photographs by Alex Harris.
